The highly anticipated renovation of the Dayton Convention Center by the MCCFA Board of Directors is now officially underway. Dan Edwards of Pivotal Media emceed the event. Commissioners Carolyn Rice, Debbie Lieberman, Judy Dodge, and Chamber President/CEO, Chris Kershner joined other local leaders to kick-off the construction during a ceremonial “first tap” event August 16th.

The $35-$40 million first phase will include removal of the iconic metal sculpture that has greeted visitors for about fifteen years. A third-floor sky deck will be installed in its place and future public green space for a full city block will be the new “front door”.

The first phase of the multi-phase project is expected to finish mid-2024.
